Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (VASH) Housing Voucher Rental Assistance Program



This housing program allows eligible veterans who are referred by Tomah VA Medical Center to rent housing that meet program guidelines from a private landlord. The family pays 30% of their gross adjusted income toward their rent. The balance of the rent is paid to the landlord by the Housing Voucher Program.

The program is a cooperative effort between the Tomah Public Housing Authority & Tomah VA Medical Center to help veterans and their families move-out of homelessness. Primary to this program is VA case management services, designed to improve the veteran’s mental and physical health. Veterans admitted to the VASH program will receive a Housing Voucher to obtain affordable housing and case management to enhance their ability to maintain stable housing.

Veterans who may benefit from this program:

Veterans must be referred to the Housing Authority by the Tomah VA Medical Center – VASH Program Case Manager
